History
Nelly Bekus is a scholar with research interests centred on Soviet and post-Soviet studies of nationalism, memory, and identity and on the history of technoscience, architecture, and infrastructure and their role in shaping communist and post-communist development. She also works on a project exploring non-Western contributions to the international protection of culture and heritage in the twentieth century and a project examining the role of cosmic imaginaries in shaping identity narratives at the intersection of local encounters with space infrastructure, cosmological tropes of tradition, and global history of space futurism.
