History
I am a postgraduate research student in the Department of Archaeology and History. My research examines poor relief in the eighteenth century and currently focuses on the administration of workhouses in a group of Surrey parishes in the south-west quadrant of the London hinterland. It considers the nature of poor relief in this liminal space and the influences which shaped the ways in which it was delivered.
I undertook my first degree at Royal Holloway College, University of London, and a Master’s by Research in History at the University of Exeter.
