Francis Brown

I am a PhD candidate on a fully-funded studentship entitled 'The Heritage, History, and Archaeology of Sherborne Abbey, Dorset'. My research looks at the cultural history of Sherborne Abbey over the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, focussing on the themes of modernity, heritage, and historical culture. As well as a PhD project, my studentship also comprises the researching and compilation of a Conservation Management Plan for Sherborne Abbey, where I am involved in a research and advisory capacity with an ongoing programme of conservation and redevelopment, and sit on the Fabric Advisory Committee.
