History
Current PhD research on the character, causes and connections of conflict in Seventeenth Century Bridport. Uses Bridport as a vehicle to explore:
- Who was in different factions in this period and why? Was Bridport different to elsewhere?
- Role of religion/social/familial/economic/political/military factors, depth and longevity of divisions, whether conflict or tolerance.
- Network analysis to investigate causality and the issue of 'county isolation' or 'connectedness.' Is it possible to infer allegiance based on close connections?
- The advanced i2 network analysis tool being used to provide the most rigorous analysis of the available historical data - 'the best of breed.'
