I am a Professor of Archaeology in the Department of Archaeology and History, with interests in the archaeology of medieval and historic Britain and Europe and specific research expertise in the study of castles, landscapes and warfare. I have published 10 books, over 60 journal articles and book chapters and over 80 book reviews; won major research funding from bodies including the AHRC and Leverhulme Trust; and supervised over 30 PhD students through to completion.
Oliver is a REF panel member for Archaeology for REF 2029.
